Lemon Oregano Leg of Lamb
- Meat & Seafood
I have two Meyer lemon trees, which produce an abundance of fruit twice a year. I try and incorporate lemons into any number of recipes, and used them in this recipe to add a bit of zing to a leg of lamb. This marinade can also be used on lamb chops, chicken, or even salmon.
Leg of Lamb With Garlic Sauce
- Meat & Seafood
Everyone who has eaten this dish says it’s the best leg of lamb they’ve ever tasted. I agree, and I can verify that it's the highlight of one of the most-requested classes I have ever taught. Just be sure you don’t overcook the meat
Lamb Biftekia with Anchovy Sun Dried Tomato and Mint
- Meat & Seafood
Biftekia is basically the Greek word for burger. After I graduated high school in 1999 my parents took myself and my sisters to Greece and I ate this several times, usually made with ground lamb, these were often served on skewers and served with different condiments.
Lamb Merguez
- Meat & Seafood
I took a charcuterie class a few months back, and have been obsessed with making sausages ever since. I've pored over Ruhlman's Charcuterie, Fergus Henderson's Nose to Tail Eating, and a zillion blogs to feed my obsession. Of all the sausages I've made,

About a million years ago, when my brothers and I were just starting to be adventurous enough to eat foods other than Norwegian meatballs or fish cakes, my mom found a recipe for Greek lamb with orzo in a magazine
Slow-Cooker Indian Spiced Lamb Chili
- Meat & Seafood
There is nothing better than a movie night, and a perfectly spiced bowl of chili on a winter night. This recipe is a fruitful result of all the hard work I have put into being lazy. The slow cooker Lamb chili recipe below has all the taste and flavor, without the effort.
Persian Lamb in Pomegranate Quince sauce
- Meat & Seafood
I was browsing through a cookbook of Turkish cuisine one day and a lamb shank recipe I encountered had me at pomegranate and quince sauce. I had no idea if I would even like lamb shank, but after loving how this turned out, I vowed to convince anyone who would listen (meaning, my husband and in-laws) that maybe we should give up on the Turkey one year?
Spiced Uzbekistani Plov Pilaf With Herbs Scallions & Peas

Plov is a traditional dish of Uzbekistan, but it is loved and cooked in many Middle Eastern countries. Our family loves plov, especially Uzbek plov, which is just absolutely delicious, very aromatic, beautiful-looking and also good for you.
Lamb and Sweet Potato Stew
- Meat & Seafood
When the first chilly nights of the season blow into Texas, I am, naturally, driven to start stewing, roasting, and baking. Lamb is often my protein of choice, regardless of the season or weather. Here it is stewed in a slightly sweet, mildly smoky, and most assuredly rich mix of good stuff
